I really love it when,
I love it when we make mistakes.
Because once again,
it gives me a reason to complain,
I love the battled lines,
the battled lines we draw when crossin the mud
Ooo I love it when we fight,
standing on the verge of breaking up or making love
(Verse 1)
What would I do if we were perfect,
where would I go for disappointment.
Love without pain would leave me wonderin why i stayed.
(Chorus 1)
I think of saving myself,
but with nothing to complain about up in heaven,
what will I do
I think of saving myself,
but I really wanna work it out
down here in hell with you
(Hook)
Magic carpet ride
See it don’t have to last forever
I know we shouldn’t fly so high
But the closer to the sun… the better
See I wanna make you feel the fire,
while I burn you with my bad days,
Ooo wanna be unsatisfied, (sure)
you can fell the heat comin from me…baby.
(Verse 2)
What would I do if we were perfect,
where would I go for disappointment,
words without hate would leave me nothin else to say.
(chrous 2)
I think of saving myself,
but with nothing to complain about in heaven,
what will I do
I think of saving myself,
but I really wanna work it out
down here in hell with you
(hook)
I think of saving myself,
but with nothing to complain about up in heaven,
I think of saving myself,
but i really wanna work it out
down here in hell with you
(Hook)
Down here in hell with you
There is something about getting a new client/account that is like smelling the inside of a brand new Mercedes. It’s like suddenly the sky is the limit & you have free reign to do what you wish with all creative inspirations under your wings. That’s maybe until you realize that all clients are the same; they start out wanting something out-of-the-box but as soon as you give them what they want… they come with a small 2mm x 2mm x 2mm cardboard box and tell you to squeeze your out-of-the-box idea in there without anything spilling over. Please don’t forget to make the logo bigger while you are at it. So until then let me enjoy the new client feeling and paint the town with my Adobe Illustrator paintbrush that is before I’m told it doesn’t go with the Brand Guidelines!
Being bored for me is a ticket to changing my hairstyle. So here I am now with this short, organized mess of dyed brown hair and am itching for something new. Sadly by the time my afro gets to the levels of Sabre (So you think you can dance) it will be a cool 2-3 years gone by. Therefore, I wonder what I can do for the here and now. I could braid it but my scalp remains a secondary virgin of 6 years as far as pulling and tugging at my head in the name of braiding is concerned. There is no way in hell am putting any chemical on my crop and I don’t foresee me cutting it down (although that feels like the next best thing to do). I’m not up for re-growing my dreads either till a certain stage later in my life. Therefore I wonder, how now brown cow…
One of the harder things about blogging is getting a title that aptly expresses what it is you are planning to say in a post. “I’m bored” is quite apt for this particular post. I am bored I am bored I am bored. Don’t get me wrong, when I say I am bored it doesn’t mean that I don’t have work to do… no I have plenty of work, but I am bored.
In the atmosphere that surrounds me has strained but sweet Christmas tunes coming slowly but surely at me… along with an air of light salty breeziness calling me from the shores of Zanzibar! Drat! I wish for negligibe clothing opportunities on the white hot sands of wherever, drenched in coconut oil from head to to while soaking in the last ozone layer protected sun rays. Drinking leisurely at my cool drink, and chatting in slow accented drawls at the next guy who stops to sell me some beach merchandise…. Ahh yes… I can smell the holidays… they are a coming.
BUT! between me and paradise is some 5 odd weeks of work, nonsensical election campaigns and throwing in a decisive piece of paper into a box that will determine my country’s political future. Until then I shall persevere…and take a quick nap before getting back to work
I think not! In my opinion the GoDown’s Sigalagala 2 went superbly well with dazzling fashion shows hosted by African Heritage, Kikoromeo & Patricia Mbela. For music there was Millie’s stunning performance! The lady has an awesome voice; so hopefully we’ll be hearing more of her soon? Maybe one Friday at Dass?
The Kwani? Poets performance was great as well; most of all I had fun with the Kwani? girls as we giggled & commented our way through the whole gig. There was a varied presentations of themes that sort of all covered different aspects of the being that is “Woman”. Together I thought we were a powerful demonstration of poetry available in Kenya. I’m even thinking of doing a QCS e-book of women’s poetry! I think so far I already have 5 great pieces.
Naliaka’s poem was about a woman regaining her 2020 Vision and booting her man out of her life, Eudiah was about Venus and how we as women have many sides to us. Cindy’s (which was very hilarious) was a presentation on a young african women coming to terms with her black beauty and Njeri’s was about a village girl whose husband so desires ‘those’ Nairobi women who in her opinion were the epitome of women behaving badly. Mine was about the enigma that is woman.
Anyway Kudos to everyone who took part esp the artists who did up the stage set up of bras, panties and stocking hanging from the roof. That kept me tickled throughout the event as I would occasionally spot a loose panty the size of a whale! But let’s do this again shall we?
